Hike at Gettysburg with the cubscouts

Cameron, Tyler, and Dad went with the Pack last weekend for the "Billy Yank" Hike in Gettysburg. It was a five mile hike through the battlefield but both Dad and kids did fine. This was Tylers first hike and only needed one piggy back ride from Dad during the hike. It was a beutiful day and we all hand a load of fun!

Camping with the Family

The family took a camping trip to Condorus State Park. We roughed it. Cooked food over the campfire and had smores. We also rented a boat and toured the lake. I took the boys fishing. Both of the older boys caught one fish each. The girls stayed behind and took a nap. No the way home we stopped and checked out the new museum at Gettysburg.

Swim lessons and 4th of July, Plus a new dog...

Since our last update the two oldest, Cameron and Tyler, started swim lessons. They really enjoyed it and their teacher said that they caught on fast. Mommy took them during the week, but Dad was able to take them on the last day and get some pictures.
We celebrated the 4th by having our own fireworks at home. The kids had a blast. And holding with tradition, someone got burnt. We also got a new dog.

Hidden Valley Partner Pal 2008

This past weekend was Hidden Valley's partner pal. Our pack was the largest one there. We all stayed at the David campsite. The first night went without any problem, unless you include the fact that the boys stole all the blankets from their father.

Saturday was a busy day. First off was Rifle and Archery.
This was Tyler's first camp out with the Pack. He had a blast. Cameron and Tyler also got their first pocket knives. No cut fingers!!!
Saturday evening, the staff put on quite a show. We sang songs and were told campfire stories and skits.
Sunday morning all the scouts got to participate in the flag ceremony. It was a good time.

Vacation to New Mexio

This past week we went out to visit Joelene's sisters family in Bloomsfield, NM. It was a great time. After a five hour flight and a three hour drive, we arrived safely at her sisters. It was then that we got to meet the newest member of their family, Sara.

During during the week, we mostly hung out with the family and allowed the kids to play. It had been a couple of months since any of them saw each other, but after five minutes it was like old times.

We were also able to tour around some of the sites while we were their. One of them was the Aztec Ruins National Monument. I must say the that was one of my favorate parts of the vacation.

The other portion of the was spent visiting some of the other families, shopping, and just having fun. The week went by too quickly. We all made it home safe and sound.

Lock in and swimming...

This past weekend was a busy one. The cubscouts had a lock in at the church on friday. It was the first one that both Cameron and Tyler could attend together. It was great. Everyone set up their tents or sleeping bags in the gym. It was just like a campout, with out the bugs and the rain. They played games, cooked hot dogs, and watched a movie. Tyler ended up staying awake til 12:30am. Here are a few snap shots. On Sunday, we all went in to visit Grandma and Grandpa Kipe. We also got to go swimming in the pool. This was Bella's first swim.

This Past weekend was pretty busy for us Kline's. On Friday night, Cameron had two of his friends over for a sleep over. They stayed up late watching movies and eating ice cream. The next day they were out in the hot tub right after breakfast. Then it was on to Dawson's Birthday Party...
Dawson's party was at the church. About ten of his little friends came out to celebrate his third birthday. Their was plenty cake and blues clues to go around.
Then, on Sunday night, Cameron and Daddy went Snow Tubing with the boy scouts. It was a blast.

Boys will be boys...

You should see the other guy...
or should we say the other object.
Batman was at our house yesterday and was spinning around with a great force untill he was stopped by the terrible villan "the table". Since sustaining the above injuries he has hung up his cape for at least 24 hours. The next morning it was a bit more swollen with noticable difficulty opening his right eye.
Tune in next week! Same Kline channel, same Kline time!

Pine Wood Derby

Today was the pine wood derby for Cameron's cub scout pack 136. Camerons goal for the car was to win. Dads goal for the car was to make it to the finish without falling apart. We both came home very happy.

The completion was fierce, but Cameron remained cool and collected. He was one of the first to run in his heat. The tension was high as we waited for the pin to drop and the race to begin. And then finally they were off. Cameron had a solid lead the first race, much to his nervous father's relief. The second race was equally as exciting, but he won once again. The third race is where he finally met his match, lost by only half a car length. He won the fourth race with no problem.

Now, it was the championship race for his den. Cameron was once again against the one he lost to. We all waited... It was a close race. Cameron came home with the second place trophy. You couldn't chisel the smile off of his face.
The Pack as a whole did a wonderful job. They cheered for one another and always shook hands and congratulated one another. It was nice to see such sportsmen ship.

Cameron is definitely coming out of his shell and is making great friends.
